Description
An American businessman and politician who served as the 49th Governor of N.Y. (1959-1973) and as the 41st Vice President of the United States from 1974 to 1977 under President Gerald R. Ford. He oversaw a major expansion of the State University of New York system in the early 1960's, including the Geneseo campus. He visited campus in 1962 and gave the address of dedication for three buildings (Mary Jemison Dining Hall, Monroe Residence Hall, and Schrader Health and Phusical Education building)
