Constructed in 1970, Greene Science Building is named in honor of Robert A. Greene, who was appointed to Geneseo Normal's science faculty in 1916. He left briefly for World War I military service and served as Chair of the Science Department until his retirement in 1954. Upon his retirement, Greene was the first recipient of the College's Distinguished Service Award.
