Photograph of the Anne S. Blake Building construction, Geneseo, N.Y. Pictured is the second level without a floor, roof, or walls, and various construction materials. During 1950-1951 the four residence halls (Bailey, Fraser, Blake, and Sturges) accommodated 204 women students and the College Center, with dining room, snack bar, lounge, post office and browsing and game rooms were occupied. Anne S. Blake began as a substitute kindergarten teacher in 1917, then head of the kindergarten department, then dean of women from 1921. She retired in 1934. The formal Blake Lounge was named for her. Blake A - E, Sturges, and Fraser Halls were given their present names in 1965.
