Description

Built in 1932 and originally known as the Winfield Holcomb School of Practice, the name was later changed to James B. Welles Hall. In it, the original blackboards remain today, mounted at a height for children. Welles Hall served as the Campus School until the Winfield A. Holcomb Building (Holcomb School) was built in 1969. It is named in honor of Dr. James B. Welles, Principal of Geneseo Normal from 1934 to 1946
