Abstract

This is an interview with Emma McCart McDonald talking about local musicians, dance events, her childhood, and songs she knows.

Notes

McDonald was born in 1899. She was not a musician herself but enjoyed singing and told stories about what dancing and life was like in early twentieth century Geneseo. She recalls stories about Edward Peterson, a local black fiddler who had a band and was also Geneseo's last Civil War veteran
