Noteworthy

Noteworthy

Noteworthy is a multifaceted project that attempts to capture the intricacy, complexity, and fluidity of navigating a difficult experience. Grounded in the living experiences of the author, an illustrated children's story recounts “Merry's” journey to understand and process the grief she feels over losing her smile. While exploring in a community park, she finds solace and inspiration in sights and sounds along the way.

An illustrated children's story recounts Merry's journey to understand her grief in losing her smile. She explores her community park and discovers solace and inspiration in sights and sounds along the way.

The expanded edition delves into education-related reflections, inquiries, discoveries, and the new practices they inspired. Told from the perspective of a college educator, it layers Merry's personal experience with the professional journey she found herself on simultaneously.

Alongside the story is a notebook that presents a combination of jottings, drawings, and reflections, and tangible examples of how she expanded her thinking and practice of teaching in the undergraduate classroom throughout this journey.

This project was supported by Geneseo's Sponsored Research and the Rochester Regional Library Council (RRLC)
